How to add a SiteMap in Blogger !

Let me first explain you what is meant by a SiteMap? Well as the name itself suggests it is a complete map of your site or it is a directory of all the pages that are available on your website or blog.

Why is it important to add a SiteMap ?

Various search engines like Google and Bing make use of this sitemap to crawl through the pages of your blog, which might have been overlooked by the search bots. This is an important step for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of your blog.

Here's a short procedure of adding a SiteMap to your Blogger

Firstly, go to your Blogger Dashboard then to Settings -> Search Preferences 

Choose Enable Custom robots.txt (Crawling and Indexing Section)

Then you will be required to Copy the below CODE and Paste it in the field box available.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /Sitemap: http://free-money-4-u-001.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Please do not forget to REPLACE http://free-money-4-u-001.blogspot.com with the URL of YOUR Blog.

As a final step Save the changes and you are done. The XML SiteMap will enable the search engines find your XML sitemap files via the robots.txt file.

You will receive a welcome email from Infolinks and if your blog satisfies their conditions and meets their criteria then in about 2 days time you will get an email from them stating the approval of your blog and now you can proceed with the next step.

Final step towards integration of Infolinks into your blog is to choose Integrate tab after logging into your Infolinks Dashboard.

Now Choose Blogger as your Platform. Choose Install Plugin.

As an important step please login to your Blogger account in another tab of your internet browser.

In your Blogger account Choose Add Widget.

Finally in Save Settings choose Save arrangement.

That's it. Your Infolinks account is now integrated with your blog and their ads would start displaying on your blog automatically.

You can change you default theme to a new third party template in the following manner :

Download from Internet the required new template. You can find one of your choice by searching on Google for "Blogger Templates".

Login to your Blooger Account.

Choose Template from the Main Menu

Step #4
Now to Backup the existing theme press Backup/Restore on the Right corner

Now you need to Download Full Template by pressing the button available for that

Then you should press Choose File button and select the new template which you wish to apply to your blog.

As a final step you should click on Upload button to finish up the process.

After adding a Post in your blog it is equally essential that people are able to find your post while they use the various search engines like Google or Bing etc. You can attain this goal by Setting the correct Search Preference.

 This search preference can help you a lot in optimizing your blog for the search engine. This contributes to your efforts of SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

On the Dashboard of Blogger you will find "Settings" and then simply choose "Search preferences".

Simply select Enable description and enter 150 characters which describe your blog. Then Choose Save to update your settings.
